The property hotspots driving Dubai growth

Expo 2020 More than any other project, Dubai Expo 2020 has been credited with sparking the rebound in the emirate’s property sector. It has triggered a house and hotel building boom that has brought cranes back to the city’s skyline in numbers not seen in six years. While the construction industry has emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the successful bid to host the event, the hospitality industry is also gearing up to cope with an expected surge in visitor numbers in the years leading up to 2020. The city won the right to host the event last November, and anticipation has been building in the country ever since. It will represent the first time that the World Expo has been staged anywhere in the Middle East. The expo is expected to attract some 25 million visitors to the city, 70 per cent of whom will come from overseas. Running from October 2020 through April 2021, the Expo will also launch the country’s Golden Jubilee celebration. Courtesy HOK and Arup
